I have chosen you and I have commissioned you

//I have chosen you and I have commissioned you

On 3oth April 2022, 20 seminarians made their first profession to join the family of the Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus at the Comboni Missionary Sister’s novitiate in Namugongo. Presiding over the profession of the seminarians, the provincial superior of the Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus MCCJ, Uganda province, Fr Achilles Kiwanuka Kasozi reminded the seminarians that they are special to Christ and that they should follow Christ closely to proclaim his love to all the nations. He called upon the newly professed to live in a way that is special, picking on the gospel of John 15:16, “It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give you.”

Fr Achilles reminded all to have a personal encounter with God and to look up to Prophet Isaiah who was purified by God and commissioned. “Be available to the will of Christ whatever the cost, dying to yourselves and dying every day,” he urged all. Fr. Austin Odhiambo Radol MCCJ, provincial superior, Kenya province reminded the newly professed that their journey has just began. He re-echoed that God is always faithful and that they should take the day as an important one.

Besides various religious congregations in Uganda and other countries, the function was graced by: Fr. Jude Burgers MCCJ, provincial superior of South Africa, Fr. Luis Tony Okot MCCJ, provincial of South Sudan, Fr. Austin Odhiambo Radol MCCJ, provincial of Kenya, Fr. Michael Mumba MCCJ, provincial of Malawi, Fr. Asfaha Yohannes MCCJ, vice provincial of Ethiopia, Fr Leonard Ndjadi MCCJ, provincial of Congo and Fr. Achilles Kiwanuka Kasozi MCCJ, provincial of Uganda and the host. The emcee of the day was Fr Anthony Kibira Kimbowa MCCJ, the assistant provincial of Uganda province.
