The Comboni Missionaries began our presence in Asia in 1988 in order to offer missionary services according to the charism of St. Daniel Comboni in the specific context of this continent. Asia is home to the majority of the world population, the greatest part of which is still unreached by the Gospel message and much of it is still unreached by the Gospel message and much of it is still living in material poverty as well. Asia is also the cradle of the great world religions with their undoubtedly rich spiritual and human values. The Comboni presence in Asia has developed little by little and we are presently working in 5 different realities; in the Philippines we have two communities dedicated in doing Mission Animation of the local Church through regular activities and in particular way through the World Mission magazine; promoting missionary vocations and also offering the first steps of formation for the young people who identify with the Charisma of Comboni.

In Macau, we give a pastoral service to the local Diocese and also carry on the project Fen Xiang, an enterprise of the Delegation intended as a service to the formation of pastoral agents of the Church in Mainland China and as a support to the initiatives of social and charitable action of the same church. In Taiwan, we have a missionary presence in collaboration with the Local Church offering pastoral care to two communities – St Anne Church in Wu Guosheng and in Huilong. Recently we started Mission Animation and vocation promotion in Vietnam.

At present we are 19 missionaries working in Asia and we have been blessed throughout these years with 15 Filipino Confreres who have become members of our Comboni Family.
